Hollis HillmanHollis Hillman was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, and soon after moved to southwest Michigan.  He was raised in a Christian home.  As a young boy he had questions about his salvation and where he would spend eternity.   He talked with his mother about this and his mother led him to the saving knowledge of Jesus as they sat at the foot of his bed.  Pastor Hillman later married his wife Darla in 2004. He and his wife, Darla, have been happily serving God together for 10 years.  They have four children, Savannah, Alayna, Lilliana, and Logan.

Prior to his founding of Freedom Baptist Church, Pastor Hillman completed Bible college and moved to Clinton, Maryland.  Here he was involved in the ministry of Independent Baptist Church where he was a teacher at their Christian school, involved in soul winning, helped out in the nursing home ministry, taught Sunday School, worked in children's church and also served in the bus ministry. The Lord placed a burden on Pastor Hillman's heart to reach the people of Front Royal and the surrounding region.  He was sent out and ordained by his home church, Woodlawn Baptist Church of Bowie, MD.  Pastor Hillman founded Freedom Baptist Church of Front Royal, Virginia, in September of 2009 and has been the senior pastor since its founding.
